These two photos show that pets are indeed an integral part of foreign service life. Spot passed away in Astana, Kazakhstan in 2006 and is buried the CMR backyard. Sami passed away in 2010 in Belgrade, Serbia and is buried in the backyard of the DCR backyard. As both of their tiny gangster markers proudly state, they were Foreign Service Felines till the end. Sami's full resume reads - Seoul, Athens, Moscow, Washington, Almaty, Astana and Belgrade. They were also United Airlines frequent flyers.
